This past week, the GAP held various in-store events to launch their new Resolution line of denim engaging the help of local bloggers in markets across North America. I attended the event at the flagship location in Toronto (Bay and Bloor) featuring blogger Stephanie Sterjovski.
In terms of what’s new about the Resolution line, the key takeaways are more lycra and memory. I admitted to staff while there that I’ve owned GAP denim in the past and my biggest problem has been that the jeans have stretched out in the bottom region by days-end. I compared older designs with the new line and there is a difference – there’s a lot of stretch but it bounces back. The staff was amazing and suggested different styles to try. They encouraged me to size down and I ended up purchasing a grey pair from the new Resolution line, as well as a high-waist pair (a style which I’ve never owned before).

While in-store, I connected with Stephanie on all things denim – here are some insights:
- The most important factor when looking for denim is fit. Take the time to go in-store to try different pairs of jeans on.
- Dress for your body type as not all trends/styles work for everyone (and that’s okay).
- Try wearing white denim all year long.
- When putting together an outfit that involves denim, try going monochromatic. It provides a clean, fresh, simplicity. If you are looking for a way to add a pop of colour to a monochromatic look, add some bright glasses or jewellery.
- Embrace denim on denim.
Stephanie’s favourite picks from the new Resolution include the grey acid and deconstructed styles.
