Confession: I’m rather self conscious when it comes to my upper arms. It seems like no matter how many Tracy Anderson arm exercises I do, I can never fully achieve the Gwenyth Paltrow-esque, slender and toned arms I crave. Perhaps I need to step up my push-up game. But in the meantime, here are eight tops that will bare your arms in the best light. Fake it till you make it, right?
V-Neck Tank Top
The V-neck tank is a great option as it draws attention to your collarbone and neckline and away from your arms.
Community Stilpo T-Shirt, $45 CAD, Aritzia
Spotlight Sleeveless, $48 CAD, Kit & Ace
Boxy T-shirt
The larger armholes make your arms appear thinner right off the bat.
Calvert Tee, $68, Kit & Ace
Swing Pintuck Top, $19.99 CAD, Old Navy
Fluttery Sleeves
The layers of billowy fabric will make your arms look slender and sleek. A top that has a shorter sleeve will also make your arms appear longer.
Likiva Eyelet Sleeve Top, $189.50 CAD, Club Monaco
Top With Ruffle Sleeve, $45.90 CAD, Zara
Three-quarter Sleeves
Universally flattering, I usually opt for three-quarter length sleeve tops versus full-length sleeve versions. A three-quarter sleeve hits the thinnest part of your arm (just above your wrist), keeping your upper arms covered and alleviating any self-consciousness you may have about your upper arms. Opt for a top in a dark hue for the most slimming effect.
Lace Sleeve Blouse, $22.50 CAD, Old Navy
Babaton Malik Blouse, $80 CAD, Aritzia
