Now that spring has officially arrived and your work attire doesn’t revolve around staying warm, it opens up a whole new world of options at the office. The tricky part is finding a balance between professional attire while exposing more of your arms and legs at work. From what I’ve noticed, working at an agency or in any casual work environment provides a bit of leniency in terms of dressing. However, I maintain the importance of looking professional and dressing for the job you want, not the job you have. Incorporate lighter colours and fabrics into the mix and reach for flats, loafers, and sandals.
A-Line Dress, $49.90 CAD, ZARA – A simple and clean-cut A-line dress is a perfect piece to incorporate into your spring work wardrobe, allowing you to maximize the weather while still looking prim and put together at work.
Faux Leather Jacket, $49.90 CAD, ZARA – A leather jacket is a main staple of the wardrobe, but why not try a lighter shade for spring? Throw this over any blouse or sweater paired with light trousers or jeans and you’re office ready.
Printed Floral Trousers, $49.90 CAD, ZARA – There’s nothing more fun in the spring than a pair of printed trousers. I would wear this pair of floral trousers with a crisp white blouse, denim jacket, and lace-up flats.
Saffra Culotte, $179.50 CAD, Club Monaco – Culottes. The most stylish and comfortable pair of pants you’ll wear this spring. I’ve had my eyes on the cutlotte for a while. Not quite trousers, not quite capris, pair them with a structured blouse of the same colour and the monochromatic look will make you appear long and tall.
Palesasa Ruffle Tank, $149.50 CAD, Club Monaco – A high neck blouse with interesting details makes this the perfect style of blouse for the office in the spring. Because of its simplicity, it goes well underneath a blazer or jacket but looks polished on its own. I would keep my entire outfit simple and let this tank be the star.
Talula Yerwood Vest, $125 CAD, Aritzia – Another piece that I love for the spring is the military-style vest. I would wear this with a crisp white button up, boy friend jeans, and white sneakers to the office.
